Hyper-realism is a genre of art where the eye is tricked into believing that the image is real. Most artworks of hyper-realism is indeed made by actual photos. However, many photos are combined to make a new image. This is then edited and manipulated on a software such as Photoshop in order for them to appear super realistic.
I personally have anxiety and sometimes it’s hard to sleep at night. My friend has sleep apnea and he can’t sleep without a little machine. I was inspired of our conditions to make this piece where a girl awakens from her sleep like she was drowning…literally. This was made entirely from photos from Google cropped, expanded and recolored. I added a cameo of an artwork I created in 2D Design behind the girls head to have some fun and to make the scene a little more colorful.
